Tegan James is a writer, poet and visual artist from Metuchen, NJ. His art includes pieces that serve to reduce discrimination & raise awareness on various topics including but not limited to the LGBTQ community; addiction/recovery; and mental health.

His first solo art show opens on April 15, 2017 at The Gallery at What’s New, 406 Main Street, Metuchen NJ. A selection of 12 mixed media paintings on canvas and paper will be on display from April 15-30. The show titled ‘You Think You Know Me’ is based on his experience of coming out as transgender. Tegan is pursuing a degree in Fine Arts at Middlesex County College, Edison, NJ. He’s an art instructor at Pinot’s Palette, Manalapan and also hosts painting parties for adults and children at Cai’s Cafe in Metuchen.
